the AK-47 was invented in Russia in 1947 to compete with the assault rifles pioneered by the Germans and was selected for manufacture after winning a competition which tested its durability and reliability in a number of trying conditions. Its emphasis is on easy use, so that even Russian soldiers wearing thick gloves in Arctic conditions would be able to load, clean and fire it. I reckon more people have been killed by the AK-47 than by the atomic bomb. What do you think?
